I thought I'd post a spotlight on of the more obscure supporting characters that originated in one Fleischer Studios cartoon back in the 1930's. One of my favorites and one of the support characters that I've updated in the SEA SHANTY FUNNIES universe by beginning to give him some distinct separate personalities. BOOLA THE TWO HEADED GIANT.

COMICS - Old WIZARD WORLD MAGAZINE Article about that time I worked with Kevin Smith on GREEN ARROW
Thanks to my old pal Nathan Donovan for pointing this out to me today on Instagram. A trip down memory lane from almost 25 years ago when I helped Kevin Smith on GREEN ARROW for DC Comics. This was a page from WIZARD MAGAZINE all those years ago. (I wish I could back in time and talk to that kid full of dreams and hopes.)
And, by the way, I returned to Instagram today and reactivated my account at https://www.instagram.com/ryanscottmccullar/
ART: Pinup Drawing of our Favorite Sailor Man
A little drawing I did before work on Wednesday morning that I forgot to post here on my website but share instead over on Facebook.
Check Out King Features weekly Thursday strip OLIVE & POPEYE by Milholland and Emi Burdge
I'm enjoying Randy Milholland and Emi Burdge's weekly Thursday comic strip OLIVE & POPEYE that King Features syndicates online. Swee'Pea is in his own alternate universe travels at the moment visiting his (sort of) "alternate universe brother" Popeye, Jr. from the POPEYE AND SON cartoon series.
I recommend you check it out on https://comicskingdom.com/olive-popeye .

INNER RAMBLIN' THOUGHTS SHARED - Gen X Silence?
It's been a while since I've posted one of my INNER RAMBLIN' THOUGHTS SHARED introspective/cartoon/commentaries/journals of thought. Or whatever it is...
Quick Update for Sunday, February 22nd
QUICK UPDATE: I was out on the town last night with Jennifer cutting a rug with old high school friends and busy all day yesterday. The Old Gang threw me a grand birthday dinner and I had alot of fun. (My B-Day is this Tuesday, but with it being the weekend and all. It was good time for all!)
My apologies, but I didn't get to finish the intended comic strip for today. Instead, I just posted a new character spotlight in lieu of that featuring Wimpy.
We will be back tomorrow with the next installment of the comic strip out in the final frontier as Popeye and friends try to cure him of the W.O.T.S. Virus that has his reality influx. Stay tuned. Thanks!

SEA SHANTY FUNNIES™ - EXTRA BONUS EPISODE
Here is an Extra Bonus Comic Strip as not to interrupt the current storyline...
In memory of Robert Duvall. No relationship to Shelley "Olive Oyl" Duvall.
However, my mind wandered on the passing of the great actor over the weekend thinking about his greatest roles. I somehow thought of this cartoon ode to him that just came out of nowhere that entered that big noggin' of mine using the THIMBLE THEATRE Popeye cast of characters - buddies Ham Gravy and Castor Oyl.
Since it is timely with Mr. Duvall's passing, I just had to get this ode out today for the late actor and his portrayal as Lt. Col. Kilgore in APOCALYPSE NOW with the fleet of Huey helicopters that I somehow linked the two distinctly separate concepts here together.
I dunno. It made me laugh. Hopefully it will give you a chuckle.

SEA SHANTY FUNNIES™ - Character Spotlight: Popeye The Sailor Man
There are so many characters coming in and out of the stories, and not all readers here may know histories or who they are, so this guide will help provide some reference material.
These are inspired by DICK TRACY’s “ROGUES’ GALLERY” entries as well as DC Comics’ “WHO’S WHO IN THE DC UNIVERSE” and Marvel’s “THE OFFICIAL HANDBOOK OF THE MARVEL UNIVERSE”. Heck, even G.I. JOE ORDER OF BATTLE and bio cards! And those that know me and my past, know that DC Comics had me write up bios for GREEN ARROW SECRET FILES & ORIGINS and THE DC UNIVERSE ROLEPLAYING GAME… so these are done in a similar fashion for SEA SHANTY FUNNIES. And as time goes by (and if I stick around doing these) and there are any necessary updates I will do so.

COMICS - Working on TWO books for the Printer. Plus 3:30 a.m. ruminations about Self-Publishing Comics
My 3:30 a.m. rambling. (I usually sleep in two shifts at night called "biphasic sleep"... I'm digressing. You can look it up) Going back to bed now. SEA SHANTY FUNNIES will resume on Friday morning. I was resting yet keeping busy with these projects for production on the print side. More info later. More comics later. Thank you!

SEA SHANTY FUNNIES™ - Taking a Brief Pause to Catch Up on Some Things and Get Some Rest
Sorry everyone, but some things in life unexpectedly piled up on me this evening and I didn't have time to work on Tuesday's planned comic strip.
I also need to get a little rest as I've been fighting a cold. And juggling a few too many things at the moment. (I'm at a point right now where I'm drawing the next morning's comic strip the night before). This is all for fun and I am enjoying this, but I may need to build up another quick buffer batch of comic strips and retrench for a few days here to get a few comic strips "in the can" to give me some breathing room so that I'm not on tight self-imposed deadlines. This is a hobby and not a job I have to tell myself! Arf! Arf!
I know many of you understand and know I'm doing these for fun in my spare time. I'm still trying to figure this out and manage my schedule.
But here is a quick doodle for you that I did just now before I head off to bed!
And while our SEA SHANTY FUNNIES Popeye is off getting himself all fixed up in our present storyline, I'm planning to "switch to a new scene" for a few days and come back with a brief interlude in a subplot so that we can catch up some of the other cast of characters. So stay tuned!
Thanks! ~ Scott
