That moment when you cannot differentiate for yourself pleasure reading from research reading is here and nigh.

MTV - You were dead to me decades ago...

Back in the day, I wanted my MTV. And like many Gen-Xers, we had and loved our MTV in the 80s with the excellent music videos that played 24-7 for some of the greatest songs ever. MTV officially shut down forever just a few days ago. But it already unofficially died for me decades ago in the early 90s when it introduced MTV’s “Real World” and gave birth to the culture it brought to television and what was truly our real world society with all the (fake) “reality shows”. And those reality shows begat things like “Survivor”, “Real House Wives”, “The Apprentice”. And “The Apprentice” begat (or at least helped pave the way) for where we are now. So $@$!#% you MTV for getting away from your music video focused format decades ago and injecting your bogus reality shows and other programming. Playing music videos is really all we, or at least I, wanted way back when before I turned your channel off when you changed the format. I already mourned your passing decades ago. Now, I footnote your obituary. (Please note this satirical rumination does not reflect the opinions of all Gen~Xers. The opinions expressed here are only my own).
